The intake

Every symbol in the Atlas carries a codepoint, and several entries turn on when it was granted — the alchemical symbols admitted in 2010, the transport controls in 2014, the power symbols in 2016. Those dates are not trivia. Encoding is the closest thing symbols have to a legislative record: a proposal is filed, argued and either accepted or refused, and the result is dated.

This is that record in aggregate. 8,617 characters in the Unicode Symbol categories, grouped by the version that first assigned them. The bar is proportional; the glyphs are the first few admitted in that release. Every release links to its complete intake — nothing here is a sample you cannot get behind.
